Karan and Jennifer getting married

After Sanjeeda and Aamir, another tellywood wedding is all set to happen on April 9. We are talking about television heartthrob Karan Singh grover and his "Kasautii Zindagii Kay" co-star Jennifer Winget . The news about wedding was confirmed by soon-to-be-bride Jennifer. They are planning to keep their wedding very simple and will be attended by family.

Karan’s first wedding with Shraddha Nigam ended in ten months. One of the reasons behind the unsuccessful wedding was the buzz that he was seeing choreographer Nicole Alvares. Jeniffer believes in living for the present and wants to enjoy all her time with karan. His past does not bother her. "My parents are also very happy with this relationship and my mother likes Karan since their "Kasautii Zindagii Kay" days” says Jennifer. They have been friends for almost seven years.

Priyanka Chopra Turns Wedding Planner

The very busy, Priyanka Chopra seems fascinated with the idea of planning her friend’s marriage. She is reportedly rather serious about ensuring that the marriage of her friend, Tamanna Sharma, is conducted in a stylish, grand manner.
While there are no reports of Priyanka Chopra interested in getting hitched herself, the leading Bollywood lady seems to be rather serious about planning this wedding. How else can one explain that despite shooting simultaneously for three films, she is taking care of the smallest details related to the wedding?

Fans of Priyanka Chopra will recall that the ambitious lady is also on the verge of releasing her international music album, the recording for which is underway in the US. Despite such a demanding schedule, Priyanka has found the time and energy for planning her friend’s April wedding.
Reportedly, Priyanka Chopra isn't ready to delegate the planning part to her friends or staff. She is taking a personal interest, talking to various vendors, including caterers and the wedding designers.
PC is also at the helm of things for planning where the wedding will be hosted. Reports indicate that the theme of this wedding is typically Rajasthani and thus, Jaipur or Jodhpur is the most likely venue.
We understand that Priyanka Chopra is trying her best to ensure that the marriage of a close friend becomes a memorable event. However, we also wonder whether her commitment to this cause is a manifestation of being bitten by the wedding bug? Or is PC planning to turn into a premium, event manager along with being an actress and an international singer?

Esha Deol to Get Married This Monsoon Season

We were among the first to break the news about the engagement of Esha Deol to her boyfriend, Bharat Takhtani, in February. Now, it has been confirmed that the eldest of Hema Malini's two daughters, Esha, will be marrying her fiancée in June.
This has been confirmed by a rather ravishing-looking Hema Malini, herself. A June wedding essentially means monsoons having arrived across the subcontinent. However, Hema Ji was quick to point out that the monsoons are perhaps a perfect backdrop for her daughter’s wedding. She was optimistic, saying that it would be wonderful to have the rain Gods blessing the newly-married couple.
Hema Ji further told reporters that the wedding ceremony wouldn’t be hosted at her lavish bungalow in Juhu, Mumbai. She opined that her home wasn’t big enough to host a wedding that is likely to have the glitterati of Bollywood in full attendance. Hema Ji further confirmed that Bharat is already a part of the family and gets along rather well with Dharam Ji.
However, there is some speculation about the date, with some industry insiders suggesting that the tentative date was earlier July 29. In all probability, Hema Ji will re-confirm the date. She seems to be rather careful about choosing the most auspicious date.

Katrina Kaif wants Arranged Marriage

Despite her overwhelming success at the Box Office, Bollywood’s biggest imported success—Katrina Kaif hasn’t had Lady Luck smiling on her romantic life. For starters, her relationship with Salman Khan engaged lots of controversies. Every few weeks, there was some news of this relationship oscillating between friendship and romance. Just recently, Katrina was supposed to be dating the Rockstar of Bollywood, Ranbir Kapoor. Later, reports emerged that the much talked-about philandering ways of Ranbir lead to another heartbreak for Katrina.
Now, it seems that Katrina has decided not to involve the Filmi fraternity into her love life anymore. She recently expressed her desire to settle down with a man chosen by her mother. Reportedly, Katrina has already requested her mother to set the ball rolling for an arranged marriage!
This is despite news of Katrina’s overseas trips with Salman and her proximity to Ranbir continuing to surface repeatedly. Both Salman and Katrina have failed to provide any clarity regarding their status. Most industry-watchers say that her relationship with Ranbir has actually hit a rock bottom now. This is why Katrina decided not to persist her pairing with Ranbir and walked out of an Ayaan Mukerji film. Katrina’s close aides have revealed that the lady has decided not to consider offers that cast her opposite Ranbir.
If an analysis of marriages of Bollywood actresses in the recent past is done, it seems that most of them prefer to choose their life-partners. This trend is particularly true for the new breed of Bollywood queens, like Kareena Kapoor. One of the most sought after actresses of our times, Kareena doesn’t seem to have any reservations about marrying an older, the much-divorced and father-of-two, Saif Ali Khan.

Soha Ali Khan & Kunal Khemu Marriage Plans

Reports of Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Khemu’s marriage have been surfacing regularly. However, the couple has refrained from giving any clues about when they would get married. It was widely reported that Soha and Kunal’s relationship had been accepted by the Pataudi family. Now, things have gained more momentum with Soha’s mother, Sharmila Tagore, having bought a flat in Mumbai.
The flat has bought jointly in the name of Sharmila Tagore and Soha. The property is approximated at around 9 crores. The flat is spread across 1500 sq feet. It is located in the upscale Sunder Villa building, on Linking Road. Though the mother-daughter duo hasn’t confirmed the reason for purchasing this flat, Soha hinted at moving here after her marriage.
While news of Saif Ali Khan’s marriage to Kareena Kapoor continues to feed media frenzy, Soha too is expected to marry soon. Soha’s marriage is most likely to happen early, next year.
Once Saif and Soha get married, the Pataudi household would be overwhelmed with Bollywood stars, just like the Bachchan clan!

Rakhi says no to 2nd Swayamvar to NDTV

Rakhi Sawant-The queen of melodrama who flaunts her plastic surgery assets does not believe in the saying “once bitten twice shy”. NDTV Imagine successfully launched the first ever Swayamvar and Miss Sawant got engaged to NRI Elesh Parujanwala. This show was a grand success as it hogged all the limelight and had excellent TRP’s.
Rakhi and Elesh seemed blissfully happy but very soon the media reported that the couple was facing scalding problems and all was not well in La La Land. The couple called it quits and NDTV again approached Rakhi Sawant for Swayamvar Season 2.
The dusky beauty known for item numbers in Bollywood was under scrutiny and she made headlines again by stating that she is too busy with work and will marry when the time is right.
However, in a recent interview Rakhi said that hopefully she would get married one day but it would happen only through a magnificent Swayamvar. Rakhi Sawant, who is known to do anything to attain publicity and attract attention, dreams of hosting another Swayamvar for herself. Are there any takers for Rakhi Sawant ka 2nd Swayamvar? Is anyone listening?

John Abraham to Get Married in 2012

This news is probably doing to disappoint millions of girls who were hoping that after his split with Bipasha Basu, John Abraham would be back in the dating game. However, it seems that John is finally saying goodbye to his bachelor days. It has just been reported that the hulk of Bollywood is on his way to getting hitched.
Known for his cute smile and a killer physique, John Abraham has confirmed that he would tie the knot with his banker girlfriend, Priya Runchal this year! This news comes close on the heels of John’s first production venture, “Vicky Donor”, being declared as a commercial success.
John had been quite reticent after he split-up with his girlfriend of eight years, Bipasha. Most industry insiders said that John was pretty shaken-up by the split. There were reports of John having become a bit reclusive after the break-up while Bipasha was still seen carrying her usual, self-assured persona. Despite being repeatedly provoked, John stayed away from fuelling any controversy about why things didn’t work-out with Bips.
He was equally reserved when he was first spotted with Priya to ensure that his new relationship wasn’t splashed across the media. It has been over a year since Priya and John have been dating. Now, it seems that the couple is headed the matrimonial way.
It has been reported that John Abraham was rather quick in realizing Priya as his life partner. He is said to have proposed to the pretty lady just two months after they started dating. John describes his equation with Priya as easy-going and honest.
John has also indicated that the marriage might not be as lavish as most Bollywood weddings. He substantiated this with calling himself impulsive and emphasized that the wedding would be a very personal, family affair. It could be a registered wedding too since John isn’t very religious and has confessed to bordering on being an atheist.
While Priya is based in London and John continues to travel around the world from his base in Mumbai, the long-distance relationship seems to have worked rather well. The couple has been blessed by their parents. John is reported to have met Priya’s, US-based family twice.
It seems that 2012 continues to cast a nuptial spell on Bollywood. The John-Priya wedding would obviously be one of the most awaited ones in Bollywood.
We are happy that John found love again and this time, he seems ready to ensure that his Lady Love is his, forever. Keep checking this section for John & Priya’s engagement and marriage dates that we promise to share with you at the earliest.

Ranbir Kapoor to turn vampire for ‘Bloody Veer’?

Kapoor lad, who is seen currently taking up an array of roles in his forthcoming films, will now play the role of a vampire. Buzz has it that Ranbir Kapoor might be seen playing the blood sucking creature in ‘Bloody Veer’.
However, apparently it won’t be a gory film instead it would be a light hearted film. Talking to a daily, a source said, “It’s a light-hearted funky venture and one could say its the coming together of Wake Up Sid and Twilight. It is about hip youngsters and a gang of friends. It’s a fun film with a dash of humour and romance.”
After playing a rockstar and then a deaf and dumb boy in ‘Barfi’, Ranbir will now treat his fans with this new role. “RK has not done this kind of a role and is pretty excited about playing a vampire and is going through the script”, the source added.
The film will be produced by Siddhartha Jain and will mark the directorial debut of Heeraaz Marfatia.

Review: ‘Men In Black 3’ is worth the wait!

Review: ‘Men In Black 3’ is worth the wait!

They are back to wipe out slimy aliens from the face of the earth – The Men in Black. Releasing ten years after its predecessor ‘Men in Black 2’ and fifteen years after the original ‘Men in Black’, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that MIB 3 is totally worth the wait.

This time round, the wicked aliens look all the more perilous with an extra dimension of terror (the film being shot in 3D), but the straight faced sentinels of the planet with their methodical approach of kicking the butt of the extra-terrestrials, Agent J (Will Smith) and Agent K, played by Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin, live up to their holier-than-thou vow of abolishing the aliens out of the earth.

You can call MIB 3 a prequel of sorts for the story runs back to 1969, thanks to a time travel medallion.

Coming to the story, Boris the freak, the last remaining alien warrior of a species dedicated to universe domination, captured and maimed in 1969 by Agent K, has escaped from a special lunar prison and is bent on revenge.

So the creature returns to 1969 with the sole motive to kill Agent K and complete the destruction of the earth that he began before he was captured. Apparently successful in his mission, Agent J wakes up one morning to a new reality.

The world is new and a disturbing place for Agent J now. His partner Agent K is nowhere to be found, the sky is crawling with jellyfish-like weapons and there is a new boss in Agent O (Emma Thompson), who is majorly concerned about J’s bizarre behavior.

When J makes an inquiry about K’s whereabouts, Agent O is mighty amazed as Agent K was killed in 1969 and Earth is about to be overtaken by the alien race led by Boris.
Worried about the fate of his partner, Agent J knows he must travel back in time and reverse the recently reversed events. He must find Agent K and help him kill, not capture, Boris and restore Agent J’s orderly existence.

Using a device similar to the one employed by Boris, J successfully travels back to meet Agent K at an earlier age (played wryly and delightfully by Josh Brolin) convincing him of the imminent danger to a world that now contains two Boris’!

The actors have done a wonderful job with the makers proving their mettle even more strongly with some high technology use of transforming the alienised era of 1969 to perfection.

A Hollywood extravaganza that you just cannot afford to miss. Go, have fun!

Imran Khan undergoes head surgery!

His contender and good friend Ranbir Kapoor did it, and now it’s his turn. Imran Khan recently got admitted into a city hospital to undergo two surgeries that were aimed at removing cysts from his body. But the fans of the actor need not worry, since the surgeries were minor ones. Cyst operations are like routine procedure, he got one removed from his head and one from his arm. Whereas, Ranbir Kapoor got the same operation done to get a cyst removed from his back.

Imran Khan is all hale and hearty now. According to reports, the shooting for his upcoming ‘Matru Bijli Ka Mandola’ is on in full-swing, and the onlookers say that Imran is fantastic in the movie. An inside source has gone on to the extent to claim that people will finally get to see an actor out of the chocolate boy as he will shock the audience with his unique portrayal. He further said that Imran holds a great chance to be noticed at award functions this time around. ‘Matru Bijli Ka Mandola’ is being directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and will release soon.

We wish Imran Khan a speedy recovery, and may he resume the shooting with the same zeal as before.

Meet the Coolio

Meet the Coolio

Q. You’re known to be pretty chilled out.
A
I am. I don’t carry the baggage of my stardom. You’ll find people acting off the set too. But that would definitely wear me down. I’m not only an actor. Off the set I’d rather just be me. I don’t take stardom seriously. All this could end tomorrow and I’d walk away thinking it’s been a good journey.
Q. How do you manage to keep yourself grounded?
A
People around me keep me grounded. I have family and friends who don’t talk films. When I’m not working, I like to spend time with them. The way I have for the last 30 years. I don’t mix much with filmy people. If I call up a distributor, it’s to know how a new film has fared.
Q. Is your aloofness misconstrued as arrogance?
A
Nope. Sometimes I may seem a bit evasive. I’m not the extremely jovial type. I don’t go around with a permanent smile on my face. If I’m upset on the set, I don’t pretend otherwise. If I’m having a mood swing you might think I’m arrogant. I don’t do things to please people. I’m very bad at creating first impressions. But once you get to know me, you’ll realise I’m chilled out I don’t try too hard to win acceptance. I would never step on someone’s toes. I’ve got my principles straight.
Q. How do you keep your cool?
A
I don’t see things that happen on the sets as a crisis. I like to laugh in a crisis. People who don’t understand it, find it a bit weird. You’ll never see me angry though some things do ruffle me. I come on time and I go on time. But if you get in the way of that, you’ll find me a cribber. However, I do try to make things as easy as possible on the set.
Q. Most of your films have done well at the box-office. Do you consider yourself lucky?
A
Till recently I was not much into trade figures and stuff. I’ve just woken up to them. Initially, figures spelt boredom for me. Because I had nothing to do, I became an actor. I never wanted to be one. I don’t watch too many Hindi films either.Really?Yup. I don’t get the time. I can’t remember the last Hindi film I watched. I still have to watch my own films. I’m probably the only actor who doesn’t watch Hindi films. Probably, that’s where my sensibility seems a bit warped. The films I do don’t have to meet a benchmark. I’m quirky enough to do a Murder 2, which deals with a serial killer. It has blood and war, which is twisted and bizarre. Thankfully, I get filmmakers who are as twisted as I am. I have an instinct for what I like to do.
Q. Do you think the media has given you your due?
A
The industry or the media’s perception of me was right to a certain extent. Here was a guy who didn’t in any way fit into the conventional mould of a Hindi film hero. My looks are below average, I’m a terrible dancer, I kissed on screen, which was blasphemous for its time. I agreed to eroticism on screen, which again was blasphemous. Everyone must have thought, what the hell is this guy doing? He’s contaminating and corrupting Indian cinema. But tastes evolve. The paradigm doesn’t shift overnight. I came at a time when the audience was ready for bolder cinema. I started in 2003 and it took till 2012 for the audience to understand what I was doing. For the first five years, my films were ripped apart. Slowly, people started warming up to them. You heard random voices saying, ‘This is nice.’ So from ‘really bad’ it became ‘okay’ and ‘bearable’.
Q. But shouldn’t you have defended yourself?
A
The audience comes to watch my film. They’ll come again if they like them. I don’t want to be intrusive. I am not desperate to get into someone else’s mind space. I don’t like too much media noise. I’m as subtle as my performances. Some actors like to overdo things. That’s not my persona.
Q. But you shouldn’t underplay either…
A
True. It would be really short-sighted of me not to publicise my film. I understand it’s important, I’ll never be complacent about it. Once the film becomes a success, it becomes a part of the audience’s subconscious. Inshallah they’ll see your next film.
Q. Are insecurities part and parcel of being an actor?
A
I have my insecurities. But I’m selfish enough to know that there’s a larger goal. I won’t compromise on my principles. I can’t hog the limelight for a product that isn’t completely mine. But I do fear that my career might end tomorrow, my films might fail and people wouldn’t want to see me anymore. That they would hate me or criticise my work. Those fears exist. But they drive you to do good work and push yourself.
Q. What’s your USP?
A
The realism in my films and the credibility of the characters I portray. My films are unlike anything else you’ve seen out there. They have thrills, mystery, suspense, a dose of eroticism and an unabashed intimacy. They mirror reality as my characters are flawed. I’ve lived enough years to know that the person who seems too good to be true, isn’t. There’s something behind the façade. Then there’s heroism in redemption. I’ve been playing ordinary people with extraordinary deeds. That’s one aspiration everyone has.
Q. So what is your take away from your career?
A
It’s been a learning experience. Earlier there were films I did purely for money. I would do some films out of confusion, unsure of what I wanted to do. But I guess I found my voice a couple of years back. I’d rather compromise on money now than do a film the audience won’t like. That leads to longevity for an actor. Creativity is paramount for me, I should believe in the project.
Q. Didn’t doing movies only with the Bhatts initially marginalise you?
A
I didn’t come prepared for movies, this was a summer job. So being aware about the media, how films are perceived, the current trends... I didn’t think about these. I’ve started learning all of that only now. The trade also wants to see you in something that sells. It’s not your choice anymore. But if you come into the industry with a bang and garner huge box-office collections, it’s different. I started off as a supporting actor to Aftab (Shivdasani) and Bipasha (Basu) in Foothpath.
Q. You’re doing movies with Karan Johar, Dibakar Banerjee and Vishal Bhardwaj. Do you finally feel a sense of acceptance by mainstream cinema?
A
I was always mainstream. The rest of them woke up late to my films being mainstream. They never knew they’d work, till I made it work, or rather my films made it work. Everyone saw films as family dramas, romantic films, love stories with songs and dances. Sufi songs, eroticism, love making, kisses, blood and war, thrills, suspense; that’s something that has got us the box-office numbers. And now everyone thinks they’re  lucrative. You will go to see a The Dirty Picture, Murder 2 or a Jannat now. These are films that broke the status quo. You have numbers that have far exceeded expectations and are climbing with every film. So they think this actor works now.
Q. Do you think you’ve arrived?
A
It’s great to be working with people I admire in the industry. I don’t understand my standing in the industry. But I admire their creative work. Vishal has a rustic style. Karan is all candy floss. It’s great to be acknowledged by both of them.
Q. Apparently, Karan had approached Salman Khan first.
A
Films may be offered to a gamut of actors. That’s not my concern. I know it’s come to me. It’s not about being egoistic, though sometimes actors are. They may not do a film for that very reason.
Q. Doesn’t being the second choice after Salman, a superstar of the masses, make a statement?
A
Salman has a huge mass following. I’ve always wanted to be an actor of the masses. I had actually said something very arrogant long back to a journalist. It was wrong to reprimand him. He told me I’d done a good job. I thought he was being high-handed. I retorted, ‘Critics can never do what the man on the street can do for me. I want to be an actor of the masses not an actor of the critics. So I’d rather take their love than the love of a handful of critics.’
Q. So you believe you’re a hero of the masses?
A
Yes, I got my first taste of it after Footpath, when I walked out of a single screen cinema hall. The whistles, love and adulation that you get from a mass following is an actor’s ultimate high. I go to the cinema halls to see whether the audience is laughing, getting restless or whistling.
Q. How do you look at competition?
A
I’m not in the rat race. The man you should fear the most is someone who does not see others as competition. He competes with himself. I care two hoots for competition. Let them compete with each other. It doesn’t really make a difference to me. All I’m competing with is my last successful film and myself.
Q. Ranbir Kapoor, Imran Khan or even Shahid Kapoor harp on working with A-list actresses. You’ve never felt the need to?
A
I’m not anal about setting up a film. It’s the world I create; I could create it with anyone. Even an inanimate object for that matter. Every girl I’ve worked with has been brilliant. Mind you I’m not taking away from the top actresses. But I wouldn’t mind creating magic with even a new girl. The rawness that comes from fresh talent is something many can’t touch. With a skilled set you just get efficient, you stop groping around. That groping around is vital. It makes their performance believable whilst exuding vulnerability, which is great for my films.
Q. What does your mom think about your ‘serial kisser’ tag?
A
She doesn’t like it. She’s like ‘What the hell is this man doing?’ Not many mothers have their son being called a serial kisser. It must be traumatic for her but she doesn’t say much. She likes my films. Murder was a shock to my family. But since I didn’t know what was floating around in the industry it wasn’t an issue for me. I didn’t know a kiss was going to be so impactful. Ignorance is bliss.
Q. Is a kissing scene mandatory in your contract?
A
(Laughs) Not at all. In fact, I don’t want another kissing scene. Enough is enough. These days, the girls in my films are amused. They must think I’m a pervert. I’d rather someone else grabbed the kiss tag and left me alone.
Q. Do you inform your wife (Parveen Shahani) before doing an intimate scene?
A
No way, that’s a complete no-no. I’d rather listen to the flak for a day or two after she sees it than hear about it for six months before the film releases. (Grins) I would never tell my wife, ‘Sweetheart, I’m going to kiss my heroine today.’ Only someone not in his senses would.
Q. Daniel Craig apparently does that.
A
(Smirks) Ask him what happens after that!

Some people just grow on you, like a love drug. Involuntarily, Emraan Hashmi makes you love him. Filmfare discovers how

SUNNY WAS VERY SHY: BHATT

Sunny Leone in Jism 2
All that glitters is not gold and all porn stars are not bold,” says the inimitable Mahesh Bhatt while revealing that Sunny Leone was shy and uncomfortable while filming lovemaking scenes with costar Randeep Hooda in her Bollywood debut, Jism 2.
“Just because she is a porn star doesn’t mean that she has lost her feminine quality of being shy. During the lovemaking scene with Randeep she was finding it difficult to do it comfortably,” says Bhatt, who is producing the film. ‘Jo nazar aata hai wo hota nahin hai’. All that glitters is not gold, all soldiers are not brave, all holy men are not holy and all porn stars are not bold. At times reality is different,” he adds.
Filmmaker says Leone wasn’t comfortable doing intimate scenes!!
The Indo-canadian adult star was finalised for the role by Bhatt during her stint in the reality show Bigg Boss 5. Jism 2 is a sequel to the 2003 film in which Bipasha Basu’s steamy scenes became the talk of the town. Pooja Bhatt, who had produced the original, is directing part two.
Randeep was also uncomfortable while shooting the scenes. “Even for Randeep it was very challenging although he has shot similar scenes before. One has to understand that it’s not a fighting scene,” says Bhatt.

Paoli Dam to do a film on wife-swapping next

Close on the heels of her success with the Bhatt production, Hate Story, a revenge drama that borders on being a sex exploitation flick, Paoli Dam is firmly entrenching herself into Bollywood culture. Word is out that she has been signed by Vikram Bhatt to do his next film. The subject: wife-swapping.

Hate Story became the unexpected hit of last week with its box office collections of Rs 11 crore, standing shoulder to shoulder with Vicky Donor, the Ayushman Khurana starrer on a sperm donor. The actress, who lost 10 kgs to fit the role of the avenger in Hate Story, confesses that she knows little about the topic or whether it is an urban legend that is being used to exploit her further in the obvious fashion. "I need to do more research since I am not familiar with the topic, but I do realize that it has become a reality these days," she said in an interview to The Times of India.

Paoli Dam is also not very worried about being typecast as a Bhatt factory actress.
"I'm a filmaholic; I won't get typecast," she clarified.

Ek Thi Dayan: Emraan learn Magic Tricks

Emraan Hashmi is ready to let the magic begin. And that’s meant in quite a literal sense. In Vishal Bhardwaj’s Ek Thi Dayan Emraan plays a magician. And he’s not going to leave any stone unturned to ensure he looks convincing performing the magician’s tricks.

Going the way of Hrithik Roshan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish Emraan would be learning magic tricks from one of the foremost magicians of the country before performing them on screen.

Says our source from the project’s core team, “It’s very simple, really. Emraan doesn’t want trick photography to be used for his magician’s part in Ek Thi Dayan. He wants all the magic tricks on screen to look, to BE, real.

Vishal Bharadwaj has decided to hire one of India’s topmost magicians, whom we won’t like to name at the moment, to teach Emraan some really intricate magical tricks. ”

Mastering the magical maneouvrings would only be part Emraan’s preparations in Ek Thi Dayan. He also needs to probe deep into the psychology of a delusional character.

Says our source from the team, “Emraan’s character ‘sees things’ We don’t know till the end if his visions are real or imagined. Emraan has to understand the psyche of a delusional man before he can convincingly play a man who sees things that others can’t. It’s a tough role. ”

Making it tougher is the fact that the film is also about witchcraft. Hashmi, we are told, has been meeting up with real-life witches to get a hang of the theme.

Says the source, “It just freaked him out. Emraan’s encounter with witches left him sh. t scared. But he has no choice but to go with the character’s requirements. ”

The film has an interesting background. It was a short story written by Aparna Sen’s ex-hudband journalist Mukul Sharma.

Says our source, “Vishal loved the story and asked Mukul Sharma to develop it into a full-fledged screenplay. The shortstory become an 80-page novella. And then the screenplay for Ek Thi Dayan. ”

Emraan’s character of the delusional magician is based on Mukul Shama’s own encounter with occultism, a world that Emraan is trying to get familiar with.

Zarine does a Salman, keeps her promise

With her mother recuperating in a city hospital, the actress rushes to Delhi to perform at an event, only to keep her word given to the organisers “Ek baar maine commitment kar di, uske baad main apne aap ki bhi  nahin sunta, ” said Salman Khan in Wanted. Looks like Zarine Khan, who made her Bollywood debut opposite the actor in Veer, believes in following her first hero’s famous dialogue. Zarine echoed these same words recently when she flew off to New Delhi to honour a professional commitment while her mother was undergoing treatment for a heart ailment in a Bandra hospital. A source associated with the actress tells us that she has been rather stressed after her mom was diagnosed with heart problem. “So much so that Zarine has been constantly by her mother’s side at the hospital. But she had to leave for Delhi as she had committed to Raj Kundra that she would be performing at his fight club event on Sunday. So with a heavy heart she left her mother in the care of the nurse, ” said our source. Needless to say, the actress ensured getting back by her mother’s side at the earliest. So even though she was tired after her travel and the extensive performance at the show, the actress didn’t stay overnight at the capital. “Zarine decided to take a flight back to Mumbai the same evening.
