On the occasion of ‘Udta Punjab’ trailer launch, Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor admitted that he is going to become a father.



When asked about reports about his fatherhood, the actor told reporters, “Why are you asking ghuma firake (round about), ask directly.

 Shahid’s former girlfriend Kareena on the stage found his reaction amusing. The two have teamed up after a long time on screen with “Udta Punjab”, but the former couple doesn’t seem to be keen on pairing up against each other.

Making his first public appearance after tying the knot with Mira Rajput, Shahid Kapoor was in high spirits at the trailer launch of Vikas Bahl's destination wedding romcom, Shaandaar, reports Mumbai Mirror. But every time a question about the shaadi cropped up, his over protective co-star, Alia Bhatt, jumped in saying, "Shahid's shandaar wedding is over, so the only wedding we should talk about is the one happening in my film." She butted in again, when he was asked about the best gift he received, "We were the shandaar gifts," to which Karan Johar quipped, "Yeah, we packed Alia and sent the gift to Shahid's wedding."


Interestingly, Shahid's dad Pankaj Kapur plays Alia's father for reel. Being a method actor, Pankaj, stayed in character throughout the shoot. "He plays Alia's protective father, and spent much of his time with her, with pakodas and sandwiches for company. He would get jealous if I spoke to Alia for even a minute," Shahid chuckled. Alia's a die-hard Kareena Kapoor fan and comparisons are being drawn between the two. Shahid insisted that this is a big compliment for Alia, since, Kareena is an established actress and has a great body of work. "But I don't find any similarity between the two apart from the fact that both are originals. And I did a love story with Kareena, Jab We Met, and now I'm doing one with Alia," he concluded.

Contrary to what was fed to movie lovers that there was no place for kissing action in popular movie Mausam, events are pointing to the contrary. This was revealed by no less personality than the star actress in the movie Sonam Kapoor. She told Mumbai Mirror that there indeed was a kiss scene between her and Shahid Kapoor the other that featured in the celebrated movie.
The kiss would not have been possible if not for the intervention of Shahid’s father. It was out of respect which she had for the director of the movie director that Kapoor agreed to do the kiss bidding. Sonam had initially denied that there was no such scene in the movie. 
It was not easy for Sonam to accept the kiss. There was dramatic scene at the setting of the film as a result of the real battle that was waged to get her accepts the kiss role in the scene. It took the intervention of Pankaj Kapur’s father for her to accept. When she was informed of the role Kapur she has strongly resisted it until the director decided to put a call to his father who now convinced her.
It appears that the whole drama was hinged on the soared relationship that she had in the past with the co star in the movie Shahid. Sonam in a chat with Mumbai mirror admitted that there was a kiss scene at the movie and she did actually kissed Shahid in the movie. All seemed to have been settled between the two stars. Her superb performance in the movie was confirmed by movie producer Sheeta Talwar.

We have all kinds of directors who make their actors go through all kinds of training and workshops to get into the skin of the role.


But what Pankaj Kapoor got Shahid Kappor and Sonam Kapoor to do was really astounding and guess they continue to do so.


Pankaj Kapoor wanted Shahid and Sonam to stop using the phone, sms or any short format for communication.


He wanted them to write handwritten letters to communicate for two months before they started shooting with each other. Initially both hated it.


Today's generation is very keen and communicates with 140 characters on sms and for them to write a note was cumbersome.




Pankaj Kapoor says, "I belong to different school of acting. Everything that my actors do have to be contextual. I made Shahid and Sonam go through this extensive exercise so that they could start feeling like the characters they plan. It took some time as first we need to break inhibitions, then develop new habits and then fall in love."


Also both didn't know how to write! So he put a strict rule that unless and until they go through this exercise he will not start shooting.


Both wrote really bad notes for two weeks which left the director Pankaj Kapoor fuming and baffled.


Pankaj Kapoor felt that it was very important for them to be able to write their thoughts down. And also since Pankaj Kapoor belongs to theatre he applied all mythologies of theatre.


Interestingly, the two got so used to writing letters that they continue to do so even today. Now it's been two years that they have continued this exercise.

A source close to couple told that Shahid is not ready to accept the veracity as he is passing through a tough time in the relation. Shahid has been messaging Priyanka which she has been ignoring continously.


He told that Shahid is following her as he came to know that Priyanka was going to be present at Shah Rukh's party for his team and mingle with the boys, he started calling her in uncontrolled manner. The source told that Shahid was anxious like a possessive lover as he wasn't attending the party due to an injury.

Mumbai: Post the super success of ‘Dabangg’ at the Box Office last year, Salman Khan has become the undisputed reigning king of Bollywood. The actor is very much in demand and even the biggest of banners are gung-ho to have ‘Dabangg’ Khan on board for their latest productions.

Reportedly, a source has revealed that a big banner (name not disclosed) is willing to pay Sallu whatever price he quotes. The reputed production company in question had earlier negotiated fees of bigwigs like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Even Ranbir Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor have had to curtail their price for the banner. But Salman is walking through easily without having to even think about his remuneration!

Talking to a daily, the source said, "This banner is desperate to work with Salman. For their spy thriller, that will be shot in at least seven foreign locations, they have apparently signed him for 17.5 crore plus a share in the profits."

Well…Salman is finally back in full form. The flamboyant star who was previously more in news for all his link-ups and controversies is now making headlines with respect to his acting ability and crowd pulling persona.

And after beating the actor of the millennium, perfection Khan, King Khan, kid Kapoor and ‘Kaminey’ Kapoor, Salman can rightly be tagged invincible. At least in terms of his price tag!!!

Shahid completes eight years in Bollywood, thanks fans

New Delhi: Shahid Kapoor, who completed eight years in tinsel town Monday, thanked his fans for their love and support. He describes his journey as "a hell of a ride".


"Today, I complete 8 yrs as an actor .... Thank u all for all the love ... I`m here only cause of u ... So thank u again! It`s been a hell of a ride ... But I gotta feeling I`m just getting warmed up! (sic)," Shahid posted on his Twitter page.

The actor made his debut with "Ishq Vishq" in 2003, and later featured in films like "Fida", "36 China Town", "Chup Chup Ke", "Vivah", "Jab We Met", "Kaminey", "Dil Bole Hadippa", "Paathshaala" and "Badmaash Company".

Initially, he started with romantic roles, but gradually Shahid has branched out into more mature roles, and is also experimenting with his looks. For his upcoming film "Mausam", he has sported a moustache.

"Time flies people...Make each day count!! N don`t follow ... Discover yourself .. The day u do that your only competition.... will b u!" he added.

When Piggy Chops was found missing in Sasha’s latest birthday party, grapevine was ripe with the news of the duo’s split up. But things seem to be changing colors really fast in B town. What: Katrina is the only one standing between Bebo and the number one position, so the Kapoor girl wants Katrina to 'dream' of a better life back home in London/Hawaii or wherever it is she came from -- leaving Bolly-wood forever and going back to her roots. Bebo might even buy her the one-way ticket.

What: The planters must tell Sallu to stop shedding his shirt and look at shedding his single status. It is time he got married now that Kat has moved on.

They can also egg on Mr Controversial saying that it has been a long time since Bollywood saw a big shaadi (the curtain fell on the Abhi-Ash wedding drama long ago) and it is time large-hearted Salman gave Mumbai something to talk about.

What: The people who watch his movies (ordinary folk) must make him believe that it is okay if he makes films with actors other than Shah Rukh Khan.

What: The unique fan club needs to put an idea in his head that Salman Khan is not a bad guy.

Two buddy-buddies fighting over a woman who is married to somebody else? That's the stuff movie scripts -- which bomb at the box office -- are made of; not real life. So Bandra boys, stop being katti, she already has a pati and start going from Ash to bashes together.

Dreamer: Shahid Kapoor
Planter: All his ex-girlfriends.
What: Shahid's former gal pals must open up that head of his and remove his fuddy-duddy I-am-20-something-going- on-80 brain and replace it with a young man's brain.

Maybe, then Sasha will understand the meaning of being spontaneous, look less serious (like the world and its problems are weighing down on him). Jive to Mambo No 5. 'A little bit of Kareena in my life, a little bit of Priyanka by my side...'

Planter: Katrina Kaif.
What: Kat wants Bebo to stop looking at her as an outsider and be her best friend. The KKs have so much in common like age, initials, being approached for the same roles and endorsements and also have a 'Khan' each in their life. Planter: All the single girls.
What: They need to plant an idea in her head that it is okay to talk about the presence of a man in her life without going into the gory details.

Piggy Chops must know it is perfectly fine to admit that she is with Shahid Kapoor and how being in love is great.

Let us not hear the familiar 'Oooh, there is no one' or even the archaic 'We are just good friends' (does anybody even say that any more?).

What: Johnny Big Bucks needs to realise that money is not everything. He has managed to chase off all good filmmakers by quoting figures bigger than his biceps.

He should accept that he isn't the best judge on what films he should do, as three of his pet projects remain unreleased. Get a good manager, John. You will get good films and improve your media relations. Dono ek hi shot mein.

Planter: Well-wishers.
What: They must plant an idea in his head to go back to being a good boy. Hrithik can do with a brain transplant and take Shahid's serious brain.

The once-upon-a-time good boy is now seriously tripping on wine, women and what-not. Roshan Jr has also turned a deaf ear to papa Rakesh Roshan who made him the star that he is. He is flying like a 'Kite' and needs to be reeled in.

Dreamer: Deepika Padukone
Planter: Prakash Padukone.
What: Papa Padukone has got it into her head that it is time she left acting and moved on to a badminton court. With Saina Nehwal becoming World No 2, there's no reason apni Dippy would be unable to achieve her dreams. The endorsements would come too.

So, Deepika should put down the movie script and take the shuttle to another kind of success.

Dreamer: Sonam Kapoor
Planter: The Fashion Week organisers.
What: Fashion denizens would plant an idea into Sonam's head that she has what it takes to be a top-notch supermodel and is being wasted in films.

What with all the Indian and international fashion houses wanting her to walk the ramp for them and Papa Anil making (ahem!) waves in LA, the Kapoor beti can make a noise in the fashion capital of the world -- Paris.

Days after the release of his film Jab We Met , Shahid Kapur has been signed for another romantic comedy. This time his heroine is not Kareena Kapoor .
Shahid is certainly moving to the higher league in Bollywood. His cute look and dimpled smile still make him look like a boy, but Shahid is getting lead roles opposite actresses that look mature than him.
First, it was director Aziz Mirza to cast him in his film ‘Kismat Connection’ opposite Vidya Balan . The film has already been shot and its post-production work is underway.
Now, it is Rajkumar Santoshi who has signed Shahid to play the leading man opposite gorgeous Katrina Kaif in his next movie.
Santoshi, known mostly for making films with socio-political themes, is now eager to explore a genre he hasn’t tried so far – romantic comedy.
The obvious question that arises is – Is the film about a young guy in love with a mature woman?
Santoshi says he cannot divulge any details about the story. However, he does state that he found Shahid and Katrina perfectly suited for the roles.
Both the actors have given their nod to the project but their dates are yet to be sorted out.
This would be the first time Shahid and Katrina will work together. It remains to be seen how they get along with each other on the sets because Shahid’s ‘cold war’ with Katrina’s beau Salman Khan has been going for a long time.

The much-awaited movie, `Milenge Milenge` will finally be seen soon in theatres the actress Kareena Kapoor is working on completion of the dubbing process and the promotional video of the film.
Boney Kapoor and the director Satish Kaushik are raging about Bebo’s` cooperative attitude. The film has brought together Kareena and her ex-lover Shahid Kapoor who were last seen together in Imtiaz Ali`s 2007 hit `Jab We Met`.

Remember the time, Shahid?Everyone knows that Shahid Kapoor is a big star today and charges several crore for a film or endorsement.

However, few people are aware of his extra humble beginnings - he once stayed in a tenement in Andheri’s MHADA colony. Last week Shahid visited a small studio in the same locality and it was quite literally a walk down memory lane for him.

Shahid’s close companion Mamu, who has know his family for decades, was accompanying him when Shahid reached the area. He informed all of the actor’s old friends who live nearby, and they gathered at the studio to meet Shahid. Needless to say, it was an emotional moment for Shahid as well as Mamu.

Said Mamu, “I have known the family and been with them for over 30 years. There was a time when things were very bad and we stayed in the tenement for a brief period in 2000 and 2001 because we had no option. Shahid was learning dance from Shiamak Davar and the financial situation was quite dire. All this was before Shahid got Ishq Vishk and became a star.

Last week when we had gone there and Shahid was inside the studio, a couple of Shahid’s old friends came to know and told me they were keen to meet him, but they weren’t sure if he would be willing to meet them. I said of course he would, and Shahid came out to meet them.”

By this time, a huge crowd had gathered outside and everyone started singing Dhan te nan. Shahid got his pictures clicked with them and chatted with some of his old neighbours.

An emotional Mamu added, “I remember those times - during the rainy season, the roof leaked and I would constantly clean up to keep the place dry so the kids didn’t fall ill. I told Shahid that he has come a long way, ‘bachcha bada ho gaya hai’. When he lived here, no one gave him a second look. Now when we have left, the neighbourhood kids were running after his car. I am very happy for him.”
