Until recently, Akshay Kumar has never been known as an actor who takes up a role to make a statement or address a social cause. However, his recent movies like Special 26 and Baby have changed that and brought back focus on facets of life that are closer to ground reality. Except that, Bollywood was not really welcoming of those subjects.
Akshay's upcoming movie Airlift, also starring acclaimed actress Nimrat Kaur, is one such movie which will confront the audience with a situation lesser known and remembered i.e. evacuation of 1,70,000 Indians from Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait War of 1990, also called the largest human evacuation in history.
The official teaser of the movie is out and it looks promising.
