Emraan Hashmi to star in Murder 2; Mohit Suri to direct

Emraan HashmiMurder created waves when it was released in 2004. The film starring Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat grabbed the spotlight for weeks together!

The news about the plans for making a sequel to Murder has been doing rounds for sometime now. However, the Bhatts refused to make any official statement on the same. As they say, the cat is finally out of the bag now. Though Murder was directed by Anurag Basu, the sequel of the film will now be directed by Mohit Suri.

Confirming this news, Mohit told Bollywood Hungama, "Yes. Murder 2 is definitely happening, and Emraan will definitely be a part of this sequel as well. However, as for the female lead, I think it's still too early to talk about it. Though I must add that, the female protagonist is going to be one of the most important parts in the film." As for the story and script of the film, Mohit says, "Right now, I am adding the finishing touches to the script. I guess in about a week or two, it will be finished. After which, we will actually be rounding the script to see if any modifications are needed."

Coming to the shoot schedule, the director states, "Let's say it will take about three weeks for the script to get locked, after which the cast will be finalized. Only then, will we actually make a formal announcement and start the shoot as well."

Further when told about rumours about Imran Zahid being cast in the film, Mohit clarifies, "Well, Imran Zahid is not in the film. Bhatt Saab is independently helping him, but it's not with Murder 2."

Twinkle's 'Blast Before The Fast' for Akshay

Twinkle KhannaAkshay Kumar who was in Toronto shooting for a music video flew back on Sunday in time for a very special get-together being organized by his two most favourite women on earth.

Wife Twinkle and sister Alka got together to organize a grand pre-Karva Chauth get-together on Monday. Karva Chauth a day-long holy fast observed by wives for the well-being of their husbands, falls on Tuesday.

Says a source close to Akshay, "Twinkle and her sister-in-law Alka who get along like a house on fire, hit on this ingenious plan of an all star-wives meet a day before Karva Chauth. Their logic was, why shouldn't wives have the time of their lives on the day before they undergo food-less penance for their husbands? They named their event 'The Blast Before The Fast.'

And all Bollywood wives from Gauri Khan and Mrs Sajid Nadiadwala to Akshay's mother and mother-in-law Dimple Kapadia are invited. Men, excluding Akshay Kumar are strictly barred.

Akshay has been getting pleading calls from his buddies asking if they could "drop in" at the party.

"But Alka and Twinkle have strictly forbidden male participation. They say it's an evening devoted to the girls. The guys can take care of themselves," says a source.

Akshay, who flew back to Mumbai on Sunday, immediately got busy with his wife and sister issuing all the invitations and arranging for the best food games and entertainment.

The Blast Before The Fast party is to be held at Akshay's sister Alka's spa Aroma Garden in Juhu.

Love is in the air for Ashmit Patel and Sara Khan

I guess in Bigg Boss house, Ashmit Patel and Sara Khan are totally in love in.

The latest we get to hear is Ashmit kissed Sara, that too in front of everyone during a wrestling game on the show. He was excited and thus picked Sara – who was playing a cheer girl – to plant a kiss on her neck.

Earlier, Sara had torn her beau Ali Merchant’s picture on the show. Both Ashmit and Sara are like inseparables, always walking hand-in-hand. However, Sara’s boyfriend Ali Merchant believes that romance between Ashmit-Sara is ‘stage-managed’.

Ashmit’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar is quoted as saying, “Ashmit is just being himself on the show. Nothing about him is fake or stage-managed. Even if his emotions were to be manipulated by someone on the show, he wouldn’t know it.”

Ashmit is also the favourite among the girls in the show because of his good nature and the decency he projects.

What’s stopping Soha and Kunal from tying the knot???

Though her relationship with Kunal Khemu is in the open and has become official now, Soha says that she will take her own time to settle down with Khemu.

Soha wants her brother Saif Ali Khan and sister (Saba Ali Khan) to tie the knot first and she will consider getting hitched only after that.

“I have my elders at home, my brother and sister. So, first it is their turn and then I follow.” Soha said..

The actress is the youngest of the siblings.

According to latest reports, Soha is currently enjoying focusing on her career. She said, “I am doing all kind of cinema, for me it is not commercial or non-commercial. The script has to be good.”

The two love birds, Soha and Kunal are going very strong and are yet to get established in the industry.

Sonam refuses to kiss Shahid

Rakhi: Kat used Salman

But, more than her own broken engagement, Rakhi is heartbroken with Salman Khan's breakup with Katrina. "Girls just come to Salman to make their careers and once they are done with their job, they leave him. Salman bas charity karta reh jaata hai. I feel so sorry for him. Bechara har baar pyaar mein dhoka kha jata hai," she laments. But, for Aamir Khan, she feels happy with the success of "Peepli Live". She adds, "I'm not a movie buff. The last movie that i watched was "Raavan". I loved Abhishek Bachhan. I think he is a great actor, far better than Amitabh Bachchan. Saari zindagi toh woh Dilipsaab ko copy karte reh gaye. I'm sorry to say, but there is nothing natural about Amitji."

Since passing judgments comes so easy to Rakhi, it's no surprise that she's soon going to be seen on a TV show doing just that – solving disputes; something similar to Kiran Bedi's "Aap Ki Kachehri". "Kiranji needed a degree to pass judgements, I don't," Rakhi points out, "I may not have studied Law, but I have a good heart. And that is enough." And what is she bringing to the table that other hosts don't? "Ab Rakhi hai toh glamour toh hoga hi," she laughs, then adds, "Darling, it is a reality show toh glamour mandatory ho jata hai. But, I can assure you ki in a serious show like this, naa hee meri cleavage dikhegi aur na hee mere sexy legs, kyunki mera saara glamour mere face mein hai. But, there is no specific dress code. Also, my fans would not like to see me in a de-glam avatar. I have the responsibility of being glamorous. I have taught actresses how to dress up on screen."
But, what about her responsibility to entertain her audiences with her song and dance routines? "Jahan Rakhi hai wahan dance bhi hoga," she assures us, "So, whenever I will be happy with the judgments that I've made, I may do an item number. Waise bhi, it is said that Rakhi Sawant always carries a tape recorder with her!" But for someone who courts controversy so often, how easy will it be to decide right from wrong?

"Arrey bhai, why me? Why do people associate controversies with me when we have bigger celebs who have controversies surrounding them all the time?" And if we're talking about controversies, Abhishek's name is bound to pop up. But Rakhi retorts, "Who Abhishek?" Ex-lover Abhishek Awasthi, we remind her. "He's not my friend anymore. Yes, I've forgiven him on a public platform and that's it! I don't want to be friends with my enemies." Noted, Rakhi!

Mohit Suri to marry Udita Goswami

Director Mohit Suri has been dating actress Udita Goswami for some years now. The couple has had its ups and downs. But the duo has been together long enough to be sure that they want to spend their life together.

Mohit is all set to get married to Udita, but on one condition. His film on racism in Australia Crook It's Good To Be Bad becomes a success.

Absurd reason for a long-standing relationship to be solemnized? Not in this practical day and age.

Reasons Suri, "I need money to support the lifestyle Udita is used to. There's no point in getting married and then thinking of practical matters. So yes, Crook has to be a success. The day it's declared a hit, I'll propose to her. Then the ball is in her court."

Apparently, Udita has been praying hard for the film to succeed. Strangely she was absent from the first screening of Crook on Wednesday night for friends and family.

Explains Suri, "The screening was for the cast and crew. Udita will watch the film soon."

Though Crook is about racism in Australia, Mohit is wary of the film being branded socio-politically purposeful. Considering the fate of political films like Rahul Dholakia's Lamhaa, one can't really blame Suri for wanting to get the film away from the political tag.

Katrina Kaif's nose injured yet again

Katrina Kaif's nose is giving her a lot of issues. Wondering why? Well here's the story. At the shoot of Yash Raj's yet untitled project at Pataudi palace in Haryana, Katrina was shooting a comic scene with her co-star Imran Khan which unfortunately led to some bloody developments.

The scene being shot demanded Imran to have a gun in one hand and Katrina by his side. He was to move around and pull Katrina towards him with the other hand. An error in judgement led to Imran smashing the barrel of his gun into Kat's nose. It happened so quickly and in seconds Kat's nose was bleeding. Coincidentally, this was the same side of Kat's nose that was injured during the shoot of Ajab Prem Ki Ajab Kahani when Ranbir accidentally landed a blow on her face.

Seeing the state of her nose everyone panicked, the shooting was cancelled and Katrina was escorted to her van. A doctor was called and she was administered first aid. The bleeding did stop but she was still in pain. Twice hit in the same spot, Katrina should really get her nose insured.
