Veterans Day, a federal holiday in the United States observed annually on November 11, honors all of those who have served the country in war or peace — dead or alive — although it's largely intended to thank living veterans for their sacrifices. It was originally called Armistice Day, commemorating the end of World War I.
Every year on Veterans Day, to honor those who have served in the armed forces. There are a number of ways to observe the holiday, whether by thanking a retired military member in your life or by donating to a charity that helps support veterans and their families. In order to be eligible, all you need is a valid military ID to show proof of service.
