Amar Singh- Bipasha Basu phone conversation released

Mumbai: Finally, the media has released audio tapes of a conversation that took place between politician Amar Singh and actress Bipasha Basu in 2006.
A leading publication released the tapes after the Supreme Court lifted the gag order petition filed by Amar Singh alleging that his phone was tapped and the conversations should not be published, broadcast or telecast by the media.

The conversation between the politician and the actress is clearly explicit with Singh mentioning that ‘age matters between the legs’ in reply to Bipasha’s comment on his age.

Although it hasn’t been verified if the caller is actually actress Bipasha Basu or not, her name is mentioned in the conversation with Singh.

Excerpts of the conversation:

Bipasha Basu: Now tell me, when are you meeting me?
Amar Singh: Where do you want to see baby? I am very busy.
B: OK sweetie ...
A: Very nice of you to have remembered me.
B: Yeah, I always remember you.
A: Old person like me?
B: I`m sorry!
A: I said, old man like me..
B: Old man like you ...
A: Yes, yes ...
B: I do not think age really matters...
A: It matters between the legs.
B: (laughs loudly) Oh God ... You try to get some time. We have not met for a month now.
A: Yes, ok ok . We shall meet.

Actress Bipasha Basu reacted to the tape and tweeted, “Pls request u all to go n hear d conversation 1st n then if u still think its me, I openly challenge anyone to prove it is me!”

Heroine Aishwarya Rai: 'She's No.1' and 'REVEALED'

Heroine Aishwarya Rai: `She`s No.1` and `REVEALED`Aishwarya Rai together with acclaimed filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar launched the first look of their upcoming bold and glamourous movie "Heroine", which delves into the behind the scenes life of an actress in the Indian film industry, at the 64th Cannes International Film Festival.

'Heroine' is a film that the team was very excited about and yes I have just agreed to come on board," said Aishwarya who will essay a superstar in it.

"Madhur has been speaking to me for many years to collaborate together on a film and I am glad we are finally working together on 'Heroine'. He is the director of multiple award winning films in India and hence, as an actor I'm certainly looking forward to this experience," added the 37-year-old.

Bhandarkar takes his legacy of bringing women-centric issues on celluloid forward with "Heroine". Earlier, his critically and commercially acclaimed cinematic offerings "Chandni Bar", "Page 3", "Satta", "Corporate" and "Fashion" too focused on various issues related to women.

Based on the life and times of a superstar Bollywood actress, "Heroine" promises to be an entertaining, daring, emotional, shocking, glamorous and scandalous behind the scenes account of showbiz. The film will take a peep into make up rooms and vanity vans to show the politics, the secrets and the lies, the highs of fame and the depths of failure of an actress.

The film is going on the floors next month and Bhandarkar considers it as his "magnum opus" and feels only Aishwarya could fit the role.

"Unveiling the first look here is certain to be an auspicious start to the movie which goes into production mid this year. 'Heroine' is an extremely glamorous yet bold story of the internal journey of a star, which is sure to appeal to audiences across the globe and therefore Aishwarya was a perfect choice for the film - no one could have essayed the role better," said Bhandarkar.

The first poster, unveiled at the ongoing international film extravaganza, looks like a cover of a glossy cine magazine. The focus is one Aishwarya's angelic eyes, and tags like "She's No.1" and "REVEALED: Blow by blow account of what happened that night" find place on the poster.

Since being on the cover page of a leading cinema magazine is given so much importance in Bollywood, the poster's idea only goes to show that Bhandarkar will remain true to the essence of his subject, like always.

The film is being produced by UTV Motion Pictures and its head honcho Ronnie Screwvala was also present at the launch. He had earlier worked with Bhandarkar on "Fashion", and with Aishwarya on "Jodhaa Akbar" and "Guzaarish".

"UTV and Madhur's combination in 'Fashion' combined the right blend of reality, something that Madhur excels in, with glamour, and it was mounted on a large canvas. With 'Heroine', we take it to the next level and when you see the movie finally you will know it was written only with someone as talented and expressive and stunning as Aishwarya in mind," he said.

Salman beats Big B, SRK, Aamir, Ranbir and Shahid

Mumbai: Post the super success of ‘Dabangg’ at the Box Office last year, Salman Khan has become the undisputed reigning king of Bollywood. The actor is very much in demand and even the biggest of banners are gung-ho to have ‘Dabangg’ Khan on board for their latest productions.

Reportedly, a source has revealed that a big banner (name not disclosed) is willing to pay Sallu whatever price he quotes. The reputed production company in question had earlier negotiated fees of bigwigs like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Even Ranbir Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor have had to curtail their price for the banner. But Salman is walking through easily without having to even think about his remuneration!

Talking to a daily, the source said, "This banner is desperate to work with Salman. For their spy thriller, that will be shot in at least seven foreign locations, they have apparently signed him for 17.5 crore plus a share in the profits."

Well…Salman is finally back in full form. The flamboyant star who was previously more in news for all his link-ups and controversies is now making headlines with respect to his acting ability and crowd pulling persona.

And after beating the actor of the millennium, perfection Khan, King Khan, kid Kapoor and ‘Kaminey’ Kapoor, Salman can rightly be tagged invincible. At least in terms of his price tag!!!

Love ka beginning, but no end

Call it a stroke of coincidence but as many as half a dozen films with 'love' in their title are releasing in quick succession in May and June. And to think of it, it is not even Valentine season. These films are Luv Ka The End, Love U... Mr. Kalakaar!, Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Kucch Luv Jaisaa, A Strange Love Story and Love Express.

"This could well be a record in the making", comments a trade source, "In my three decades of keeping track of films being made, I have never seen so many movies with a similar sounding title. Yes there have been love stories made and released one after another but never has the word 'love' being used so frequently."

Expectedly though, majority of these films are feel good affairs.

"Every character in the film is an exaggeration of someone I know", says Shenaz who has written Luv Ka The End (already released) and calls it as a semi-autobiographical affair.

Tusshar believes that Love U... Mr. Kalakaar (coming next week) is what a Rajshri film stands for. "It is sweet, simple and like a breeze; you would constantly have a smile on your face", he says.

For Subhash Ghai, Love Express (releasing on 10th June) is about 'Friends, family, songs, dance, masti, romance, fun and tears', hence resulting in a 'journey of love stories'. Though newcomers dominate the film's cast, Om Puri plays a loveable 'Sardarji' ensuring that this 'love express' chugs along.

A Strange Love Story (releasing on 3rd June) is a thriller that has been in controversies due to tussle between producers and Riya Sen, hence ensuring that there is no love lost between them after all.

For the 27th May release Kucch Luv Jaisaa, producer Vipul Shah comments, "The biggest USP here is the coming together of Rahul Bose and (my wife) Shifali Shah. It is this pairing of a housewife and a gangster in this feel good romcom that will keep the audience smiling."

There is no such promise being made by director Luv Ranjan though when he brings Pyaar Ka Punchnama on 20th May. "Well, you would see love breathe it's last with our film", he gives out that mischievous smile, "There are love stories but with a twist. This is the reason why we have laid down a set of rules in our love story; hence the title Pyaar Ka Punchnama and the song 'Ishq Na Kariyo Kakke'."

With Himesh Reshammiya unleashing A Love Issshtory soon, Zayed and Dia arriving with their labour of love Love Breakups Zindagi and Ramu threatening to change the demographics of love with Not A Love Story, seems like 'love stories' are there to stay in Bollywood.

DHOOM 3 ACTION!

It is still in the pre-prod stages, but one of the films that already has a huge amount of buzz surrounding it is Dhoom:3. Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra are stepping into Jai and Ali's shoes once again for the third installment of the blockbuster Dhoom franchise and this time the boys will face a new threat in the form of Aamir Khan. Not much at all is known about the story, but from what we have heard, Dhoom:3 is certainly going to live up to the legacy of style, stunts, cool story, bad guys and good that the franchise is known for!

Apparently, the action for the film is once again going to be out of this world and Uday is perhaps a wee bit apprehensive, but totally excited about what they are planning. He tweeted, "Just sat in on some of the action discussion for D3..its gonna be SICK!! Cant wait to get into it, might break a few bones but that's da fun."

We can't wait to see how they are going to top the action we have seen in the previous two films that included motorcycles, jet skis, moving trains, and so much more! Set to begin filming later this year, with Vijay Krishna Acharya in the director's seat, we won't get to see the final cut until 2012. You can be sure we will keep up on all the developing stories and keep you in the Dhoom:3 loop!

HAUNTED 3D decimates LUV KA THE END!

This week saw two new releases, Yash Raj Films' (Y-Films) LUV KA THE END and Vikram Bhatt's Mahakshay starrer, HAUNTED 3D. Though it was obvious that HAUNTED 3D would dominate LUV KA THE END, but the extent of dominance turned out to be totally one sided.

HAUNTED 3D and LUV KA THE END

HAUNTED 3D and LUV KA THE END

While the collections of HAUNTED 3D were average in the 2D version (20-45 percent), it was a totally different story as far as the 3D version is concerned as the occupancy varied from 60-70 to even 100 percent at some screens. More than that HAUNTED 3D brings great news for the leading man Mahakshay (Mimoh), who may not have delivered an Oscar worthy performance but the view is unanimous that it is a much improved and confident Mahakshay in HAUNTED 3D as opposed to the Mimoh of JIMMY!

CHECK OUT: HAUNTED 3D Movie Review

Coming to LUV KA THE END, the film has ordinary collections (5-20 percent) and even the audience feedback has been quite negative.

Having said the above one has to mention here that the Hollywood venture FAST & FURIOUS 5 (RAFTAAR KA JUNOON 5 in Hindi) too has embarked on a good start and will give a tough fight to all the Hindi movies including HAUNTED 3D.

Real 'Ragini' to take legal action...

Delhi-based Deepika, whose real life story inspired Ekta Kapoor's upcoming film Ragini MMS, on Friday said that if the film is not shown to her prior to its release, she will take legal action against the producer.
"I want to see the film. I have spoken to Ekta about it. She doesn't want to show it to me, I don't know why?" the 22-year-old told reporters here.
"I'm coming from Balaji office right now and the only answer I get is that the movie is not ready. How is it possible? The movie is releasing in one week. If I'm not shown the film before release, I will take legal action," she added.
Real 'Ragini' to take legal action...
Deepika, who was shown the script of the film before it was filmed, said she wants to see whether she has been portrayed in the right light or not.
"When the film was being made, I was shown the script and I did read it. I have no problem with the script. But there is a lot of difference between reading the script and interpreting that on the screen. I want to see how they have portrayed my character. Because if there is something bad, then my image will be ruined," said the Delhi girl.
Ragini MMS, which is produced by Ekta and directed by Pawan Kripalani, is slated to hit screens on 13th May and is about a couple who go for an adventurous weekend and get filmed by 24 cameras amid some paranormal activity.
Ekta has maintained that only 30 percent of the film is based from Deepika's incident and the rest is pure imagination.
According to Deepika, she was offered money as compensation for her story but she refused.
"Ekta asked me if I want to be paid. But I said no. She didn't mention an amount but she said she can pay me for this. But I told her that I don't want anything because it's a story on my life," she said.
In the real life incident, Deepika said, her boyfriend secretly filmed both of them involved in intimate physical contact.

Ranveer and Anushka get lovey-dovey at Ranbir’s pad!

Mumbai: ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ jodi Ranveer and Anushka might have gone public, saying they are just friends and share a platonic relationship, but the duo was recently caught in action at Ranbir Kapoor’s bash on Tuesday night.

Apparently, Ranveer and Anushka have categorically denied their relationship. In the past, Anushka had said, “We are great friends. We hang out, have coffee together, go out for dinners. We have common friends. We have some karmic connection but it’s totally platonic.”

Anushka went ahead and even swore on her film, saying, “I have sworn on my movie ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ that Ranveer and I are not dating. There is no bigger proof I can give. He keeps to himself most of the time. He is not a person who will ask his girlfriend about her day and if she is okay or not. He is overdramatic and psychotic. Hats off to the girl who’s ever going to date him.”

On the other hand, Ranveer chipped in, saying, “Our relationship is such that we are unabashedly taking each other’s case, tearing each other’s hair out if we happen to spend even fifteen minutes at a stretch in one room. Anushka is too demanding. God help the person who dates her.”

However, once at Ranbir’s pad, the duo was in their elements. Talking to a daily, an eyewitness said, “They definitely made their relationship official, albeit by action.”

“At times, they even went into corners, oblivious to the people around them. And when everybody had a few drinks and started shaking a leg, Ranveer grabbed this opportunity as well as Anushka and pulled her for a close dance. Out of all the couples on the dance floor, Ranveer and Anushka were the cosiest. Almost everybody noticed their proximity,” the source said.

Salman is not keen on recieving any awards…

Salman is not keen on recieving any awards…

Salman Khan has had a filmy career of 23 long years. And, 2010, brought him his first best actor award for Dabangg. But, more than recieving his first best actor award, Sallu is happy with the audience reaction for his film.

“I don’t want any awards. I have told all the producers to not put best actor nomination. I don’t want to be a nominee. I get my recognition and appreciation when the theatres are full…when people whistle and clap,” Salman said.

“From the masses it’s their love that matters to me. When the film goes from single theatres to multiplex theatres it is an award for me. I would rather believe in these rewards than such awards,” Salman added.

“There was a time when everyone else’s films were working and my films were getting bombed…left, right and centre. I had to do films as I liked the script…but then I couldn’t put my foot down on edit or re-shoot some scenes. But today I have realised as audience spend money for films…so it’s my responsibility to ensure they are entertained,” the actor said.

“Even if I don’t get my salary or remuneration from now onwards it doesn’t matter to me I am going to be fine with it. Anyways, everything I earn goes to the charitable trust ‘Being Human’ so that is something I am not worried at all. What I am worried about is when my film releases audiences should be happy and satisfied,” the 45-year-old actor said.

Speaking about his upcoming and one of the most awaited flick Ready, Salman clarified why two songs -’Character Dheela’ along with Zarine Khan and ‘Dhinka Chika’ were shot again.

“Two songs have been re-shot because I wasn’t happy with what was shot in Bangkok. I heard the audio…saw visuals and thought they didn’t match up. There’s no strategy. I just wanted the song to be better. That is why we shot the songs again and we got that,” Salman said.

The actor concluded saying, “I am all looking forward for ‘Ready’. I just hope we stand up to the expectations,”.

‘Ready’ is slated to release on June 3.
