Many on social media shared glimpses from his last concert, remembering him as their teenage idol whose songs made their school and college lives memorable.

"Hum, rahen ya na rahen kal..." - the timeless classic filled the air at Kolkata's Nazrul Mancha on Tuesday as singer KK staged his last performance. He collapsed after the show and was rushed to a hospital in the city where he was declared dead..

The song "Hum, rahen ya na rahen kal - Pal" became a hit with the younger crowd and no school or college farewell was complete without it. Therefore, it was quite heartbreaking for his fans that it also ended up being his final song.

As a playback singer, he has recorded Bollywood numbers such as Ankhon Mein Teri (Om Shanti Om), Zara Si (Jannat), Khuda Jaane (Bachna Ae Hasino) and Tadap Tadap (Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam) and Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai (Gangster) are among most popular songs by KK.
