These Foreign Beauties Couldn’t Make It In Bollywood

1) Rosa Catalano
Saif Ali Khan, after ending his marriage with Amrita Singh, was in a relationship with this Italian model. Her only claim to fame being Saif’s ex-flame, Rosa struggled in Bollywood and had nothing but a few fashion shows and an odd item song or two to show for it.

Remember her endearing role as a cute Punjaban in Love Aaj Kal? Turns out that this Brazilian beauty simply vanished from B-town after the film! She was neither seen Kal, Aaj nor Kal!

3) Amy Jackson
Amy was only 17 when she came to India to try her hand at acting. A British national, she made her Bollywood debut opposite Prateik Babbar in Ek Deewana Tha. Much like her debut Bollywood film, her career was unsuccessful. But she found her saving grace in the Tamil film industry which helped her find a secure footing.

4) Linda Arsenio
She made her Bollywood debut with Kabul Express because of which, this Texan actress seemed very promising in the beginning. She followed it up with a role opposite Aftab Shivdasani in Aloo Chaat after which she just vanished from B-town!

5)  Meera
This siren from across the border made her Bollywood debut with Mahesh Bhatt’s Nazar. But soon, following a fallout with her mentor Mr. Bhatt, she went back to Pakistan where she is a successful actress and a politician too. Seems to have taken her rejection well!

6) Veena Malik
Another one of Pakistani exports, she wowed the Indian audiences with her stint in the Bigg Boss house. But her dream of making it big in B-town went for a toss after a horrible ‘Zindagi 50-50’ and a few small item numbers in a couple films.

7) Barbara Mori
We saved the best (worst?) one for the last! Not only did Barbara get the perfect Launchpad into Bollywood: A 300 Million INR, but she also got to star opposite Hrithik Roshan! Despite that, the film only managed to gross 7.2 Million worldwide, and was declared a flop. What’s worse? Even today Barbara is accused of being the reason behind Hrithik’s breakup! Talk about bad mojo.

If there’s one thing to be learn from these is that for every Katrina Kaif/ Jacqueline Fernandez, there are hundreds of Veena Maliks and Barbara Mori’s out there. Turns out that Bollywood’s equally difficult for foreigners to get into, forget the locals!
